Formula Challenge Staff Profiles

Here's your chance to meet some of the members of the Formula Challenge team who will help make your dream of being a racecar driver a reality.

Craig Greenwood

Craig is the designer and builder of our unqiue Formula Challenge single seater that you'll drive. Craig started building Formula First racecars for himself in the mid 90's then started maufacturing them for others. Craig holds the honour of being the first driver to win the New Zealand Formula First championship using his own designed and built car. In early 2002, Craig designed this simple but effective racecar which you can drive today.

On the event days, Craig looks after the Operational side of the company ensurng that each and every day we run goes smoothly, by overseeing the mechanical aspects of the day and manageing the on-track operations.

Charles Dawson

Charles has a history of running succesfull buinesses in Auckland and runs the Adminstrational side of Formula Challenge ensuring that our event days are planned to the finest detail and that you experience goes off without a hitch.

Charles is also a race driver with many years of competition in the New Zealand Formula First championship. On your day, Charles oversees the tuition part of your experience making sure that you have a great start to your day.

 Elton Goonan

Elton lives and breathes motorsport. He has had over 15 years of racing and in-car consultant experience both in New Zealand, where he is currently working towards the BNT NZV8 Championship, and in Europe, where he has raced in a wide range of championships and cars.

Elton has also worked as a senior in-car consultant at circuits such as Silverstone, Brands Hatch, NurburgRing, Spa and Monza, to name a few.

Elton's role is to oversee the developement of the in-car consultants and the staff. He is also the General Manager of the Formula Challenge Driver Improvement Programmes which runs programmes aimed at improve your skills as a driver on the public road.

Mel Mundy

Mel is our office adminastrator and works with Charles to ensure your bookings are processed and everything runs smoothly.
